Hot Oil Treatment with Alchemy Oils Grapefruit Hair Remedy & Alma Hair Remedy

My hair is prone to dryness especially during the cold season so I have to pay more attention to it.  Moisture is important so using products that keep my hair healthy and looking good is key.

Hot oil treatments have been my best friend and have helped improve my hair and scalp health.  They are great for any hair type and benefits include:

  • Soften and nourish the hair
  • Help prevent breakage
  • Help treat dry scalp conditions and dandruff
  • Help maintain the moisture balance of the hair
  • Help moisturise dry, brittle hair
  • Help prevent split ends and tame frizz
  • Strengthen hair, add body and shine

I like to do weekly hot oil treatments and I decided to add Alchemy Oils to my hair regimen.

How I apply my hot oil treatment:

Step 1: Heat the oil

Fill a small bowl with hot water (not boiling hot) and place the bottle in the water.  Leave for about 3 minutes.  Warming the oil first helps open the hair cuticles and allow the oils penetrate deeper into the hair and scalp.

Step 2: Apply oil to hair and scalp

Section hair and apply the oil to the scalp and entire hair (root to tip).  Use the tips of your fingers to gently massage the scalp using circular motions for 2-3 minutes.

Massaging the oil into your scalp helps to:

  • Lubricate and condition the scalp and treat dandruff
  • Dislodge dirt and build up from the scalp
  • Increase blood circulation
  • Nourish the hair follicles
  • Stimulate hair growth
  • Soften and condition the hair

Plus there’s nothing like a good scalp massage to help you de-stress!

Step 3: Cover hair with a shower cap

You can leave on overnight for a more intensive treatment.  Otherwise heat a towel with very hot water and wrap over the shower cap.  Leave for at least 30 minutes or longer.  While I wait I like to chill with a nice cup of tea and catch up on Netflix!

Step 4: Shampoo, condition and style

Rinse hair with warm water, then apply shampoo.  The oil washes out easily and doesn’t leave my hair greasy.

I condition and style hair as normal.  I also like to apply a small amount of oil to the ends of my hair to seal in moisture.  It works well on damp and dry hair.

I have definitely noticed an improvement since adding the Grapefruit and Amla hair remedy to my wash day routine.  Both oils smell great and are really light so my hair doesn’t feel weighed down .

My hair looks and feels stronger and healthier.  It is able to maintain moisture better and I experience less breakage. It also feels softer and shinier.  My scalp feels nourished and healthy too.

Have you tried Alchemy Oils?  Please feel free to share your experiences.

  1. I have heard the whispers of alchemy. But I had no idea about this oil back then. But recently I have to search for hair oil because of my hair fall problem. And I came across this blog also by the searching hair oils for my problem. I hope I will be not disappointed this time.
