Bia Beauty Lemon Myrtle Hand Cream Review

Who doesn’t love a good hand cream and frankly you can never have too many!

My hands are very dry and need extra TLC especially as I rarely wear gloves when washing up. I have a bunch of hand creams in every room at home, several hand bags and in the car.

So I decided to pick up a new hand cream to try out from Bia Beauty.

Bia Beauty is the branchild of Tracey Ryan and is handmade in Cork, Ireland.  Tracey has always had a love for plants and it was this passion that led her to study Herbal Science.

And it was during this four year degree that the idea for Bia Beauty grew.  She was given the task of creating, marketing and selling a natural product as part of an Innovation module.  She made a 100% natural moisturiser and sold it locally at farmer’s markets.  The response was so positive that she continued to make and sell it long after the project had ended.

After her son was born she began to make the family skincare and toiletries.

And so Bia Beauty was born.

Bia is the Irish word for food – all the ingredients are 100% natural. They use simple food ingredients such as nut and seed oils, herbs, fruits and butters – “superfoods for the skin”

Your skin absorbs up to 60% of what you apply to it so their message is to ‘feed your skin’ with natural ingredients.

Our hands need lots of care and protection so we’ve combined shea butter, beeswax, calendula infused oil and sweet almond oil to make a nourishing, healing and protective hand cream. We’ve added a little lemon myrtle essential oil – it’s clean, sweet and zesty smelling, as well as being antibacterial.

The consistency is rich and creamy and it spreads very easily.  It doesn’t take long to sink in and absorbs quickly, leaving my hands moisturised and protected.  What’s also great is it doesn’t feel sticky or leave greasy prints everywhere.  My hands feel super soft afterwards.

The scent is also a nice pick-me-up… sweet, citrusy and tangy.
