IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!! So today I turn 43 and I’m excited to share a new brand I’m loving at the moment.
Bloomtown was founded in 2016 by husband and wife team Preyanka Clark Prakash and Medwin Culmer after spending two years in Indonesia and witnessing first-hand the loss of virgin forest that is home to endangered orangutans, tigers and so much of the world’s biodiversity.
“We launched Bloomtown out of our kitchen in Cornwall after spending 2 years in Indonesia and seeing a real need for palm oil-free options in the beauty industry. Global demand for palm oil is ever increasing, so we feel that one important way to prevent more virgin forest from being cleared is to reduce overall demand, by raising awareness and offering consumers reasonably priced, palm oil-free alternatives.
Our bath and body products are inspired by the woods, gardens, groves, and other charming nooks of our ideal green community, where every ingredient is nourishing and sustainable.”

I was immediately drawn to the brand and selected a few products to try out….
Bloomtown The Hedgerow Blackberry & Honeysuckle Sugar Scrub (60ml | £6.50)
We’re pretty picky about our body scrubs here at Bloomtown. We make all of our scrubs from scratch, no pre-made bases. We believe they should contain only natural exfoliants (no plastic microbeads, thank you very much!) and nourishing botanicals that leave skin cleansed and soft. Our shea, sweet almond and coconut-based scrub is scented with summery notes of juicy blackberry and sweet honeysuckle.
Crafted with fine British sugar and the perfect balance of plant oils and botanical ingredients. Our 3-in-1 product that effectively cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises dry skin. Our one-of-kind formula washes off easily, so skin is left feeling perfectly soft, never greasy.
During shower, massage into damp skin, paying particular attention to rough areas such as knees and elbows. Rinse with warm water.
I exfoliate regularly and I love a good scrub. First of all this one smells absolutely amazing. I love sweet smelling products and the scent of blackberry and honeysuckle is incredibly sweet and intoxicating, reminiscent of a perfect summer day. The scent filled my entire bathroom!
The consistency of the scrub is perfect and not too abrasive. It spreads really well when you apply it and doesn’t just fall straight off your skin. It does a great job sloughing off dead skin cells. After rinsing my skin, it felt super smooth, soft, glowing and smelling amazing.
Bloomtown The Clearing Black Clay & Tea Tree Treatment Mask (60ml | £12)
Give your skin a much-deserved breather with our Black Clay Mask for oily and acne-prone complexions, formulated with anti-bacterial tea tree oil and white willow bark extract, a natural pore-exfoliant. Our plant glycerine formula does not dry out like traditional masks.

I always look forward to applying a face mask as it means I can take time out and focus on self-care.
I occasionally get breakouts and congestion so I apply this clearing mask twice a week. It is easy to apply and I feel a warm sensation afterwards. The best part is it doesn’t dry out so I can chill for 25 mins.
Using this face mask has been a noticeable difference to my skin, it really decongests my skin and it looks clearer and feels smoother. Love it!

I really love this lip balm. It comes in a cute little tin and is a hand bag essential. I’m always drawn to lip balms with peppermint as I enjoy the tingling cooling sensation on my lips. It is very soothing and hydrating so no chapped lips here.

Better than lotion, our nourishing aromatherapy bath oils double as the perfect dry oil for body, two products in one! Expertly blended with antioxidant-rich Meadowfoam, Sesame, and Sweet Almond Oils + healing Vitamin E. Absorbs easily into skin. For a relaxing bath, add several drops to warm, running water. For silky smooth skin, massage all over body in place of moisturiser. For an overnight hair treatment, apply to ends and shampoo in the morning. Perfect for massage, too!
Add to warm bath water or use daily as a moisturiser for soft, deliciously scented skin.
To remove makeup, massage into facial skin, cover face with warm, damp cloth, then simply wipe off all traces of dirt, oil and makeup!
Ooh I am so addicted to the scent of this body oil. I was completely blown away the first time I tried it. I later purchased the roller ball version so I can carry it with me!
I know rose products are not to everyone’s liking but I have to say this is not your ‘typical rose’ scent. This body oil smells gorgeous, it is sweet, floral and romantic.
The consistency is light and it absorbs easily without any greasy residue. I haven’t tried it as a bath oil but it’s now my go-to body oil. My skin feels silky soft and smooth and delicately scented. I also love using it on my hair to tame frizz.
