About the brand
Founded in 2017 by Bristol-based makeup artist and beauty consultant Melissa Chartan, Planted Skincare was born out of her journey with eczema, psoriasis and dry skin. Frustrated with harsh beauty products, Melissa began hand-blending cold-pressed oils in small batches at home.

I was recently invited to try out two of Planted Skincare’s most beloved products: the Oil Cleanser with Black Cumin & Raw Honey and their Nutrient Rich Face Cream.
Oil Cleanser with Black Cumin & Raw Honey (120ml)

Application & Texture
What sets this cleanser apart is its transformative texture. The texture is a golden gel that glides effortlessly across dry skin. As you massage it onto dry skin, the gel melts into a silky oil, effortlessly breaking down makeup, sunscreen, and daily grime. Add a splash of water, and it emulsifies into a creamy milk that rinses off easily without leaving any greasy residue.
This oil cleanser is a dream for makeup removal and gentle cleansing. The gel-like texture feels like honey—silky, without the stickiness. The scent is a blend of earthy sweetness—warm honey mingled with herbal notes of black cumin, frankincense, and rosemary. Bright citrus hints from orange and bergamot add a refreshing lift, creating an overall comforting aroma.
The Ritual…
- Apply to dry skin and massage
- Add warm water to emulsify
- Remove with muslin cloth for gentle exfoliation
- Leave on for 5–10 mins as a weekly nourishing mask
My skin loves this cleanser, it clears congestion, calms hormonal blemishes and gently soothes irritation. Over time, I’ve noticed fewer breakouts and a smoother, more even texture—especially around areas prone to congestion like my chin and nose due to menopausal changes. Application & Texture
This face cream is pure comfort in a bottle—its vibrant yellow colour glows like sunshine on my skin. The scent is soft and grounding, with delicate floral hints of lavender and geranium that soothe my mind.
The airless pump delivers just the right amount for your face, neck, and décolletage—one pump is all you need. The texture is rich but airy, with no heaviness or greasiness and it absorbs like a dream.
As my skin has grown more sensitive and prone to dryness with menopause, this cream has come to my rescue. The blend of ingredients helps replenish lost moisture, soften dry patches, and restore elasticity.
Whether used under makeup or as a night cream, it leaves my skin feeling soft, plump, dewy, and balanced—no more tightness or flakiness, just calm, nourished skin.
