Today I’m getting up close and personal with Farryn Watts, founder of Farryn Amber.
Hi Farryn, tell us a bit about yourself.
I am a Gold Coast gal residing in London. I love animals (wish I could rescue and help them all!), being cosy in the winter and being on the beach in the summer (who doesn’t?), mowing the lawn, disney/pixar films, chocolate, watermelon, plants, apple cider and country pubs.
I hate coriander and cumin, confrontation, public speaking, my chronic hay-fever during spring (I can’t even leave the house), clutter and whisky.
What inspired you to start your own brand?
Our brand has always been inspired by my home in Australia, each and every single product has a piece of my heart and is always created with a certain memory of home.
The desire to start creating began during my Interior Design course, I had a stronger interest in the styling and soft furnishing side than the technical side. This is when I first started gaining an interest in creating my own home decor products.
Also, for anyone that knows me, knows I am a HUGE animal lover, my entire business and ethos is based around vegan and cruelty-free products while always keeping my brand eco-friendly and sustainable for our lovely planet.
What challenges did you face starting your own brand and what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
We have faced many challenges and hurdles along the way and it won’t stop! As a growing small business we are always looking for new ways to help push us forward and sometimes you won’t always make the right decision, but that’s what its all about! Learning, learning, learning!

Vegan, Natural, Honest.
Tell us about your products and what makes them unique.
Our passion is to design and create products in small batches that are natural and nourishing. We use the highest quality ingredients in all of our products to enhance your senses and revitalise your skin.
All of our collections are inspired by Australia, our candles are hand-poured using all natural vegan soy wax, paraben free fragrance oils and essential oils.
Our skincare is hand-blended with UK sourced, natural and organic ingredients and is always vegan and cruelty-free! Everything we produce is hand-made in our home studio, from formulating and designing to pouring and shipping.
We will never ever test on animals or use any animal by-products within our brand, we are working towards ways to help stop animal testing within the cosmetics industry!
What are some of your favourite natural and organic ingredients?
I absolutely love producing formulas with coconut oil. It has incredible hydrating benefits, is super absorbent and long lasting throughout the day! Hemp oil is also another one I like to incorporate as it is great for all skin types. It balances oily skin and hydrates dry skin by regulating the skins natural oil production without clogging pores.
What is your favourite scented candle from your collection?
My favourite candle always changes between Eucalyptus and Tonka Bean.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
It is definitely making products that people love using and will help them in some way, whether its to relax with our soy scented candles or using our natural skincare products to help them with a skin issue.
What are some of your favourite ways to pamper yourself and have some ‘me’ time?
I love kicking back with a glass of wine, watching a film with a face mask! Farryn Amber face mask, of course 😉
What’s next for Farryn Amber? Any new product launches you can share with us?
We will be launching in a VERY exciting new store in April! We also have a few new products in the testing stages at the moment and will be revealing within the next few months! Lets just say, (as a typical Australian) I want to keep that summer glow all year round!
