Facial Gua Sha With Hayo’u Beauty Restorer and Beauty Oil

We all want beautiful, youthful and healthy skin. Today I want to share a beauty ritual that has given me immediate results and transformed my skin.

I’ve been incorporating Gua sha into my skincare routine and it has made a noticeable difference to my overall skin health and wellbeing.

What is Gua Sha?

Pronounced “gwah shah”, Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese healing massage technique that dates back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It involves ‘scraping’ lubricated skin with a tool typically made from jade or rose quartz to redirect energy flow. This technique helps to increase circulation and release stagnant blood and toxins. When more blood and oxygen flow to the area that is treated, the body responds more efficiently and healing can take place.

Traditionally, Gua Sha was used in Chinese Medicine to soothe inflammation all over the body, helping with everything from treating a fever to headaches.

I came across The Hayo’u Method on Instagram and decided to check it out.

Hayo’u was founded by acclaimed Chinese medicine practitioner and best-selling author Katie Brindle.

Founder Katie always dreamt of becoming an opera singer. But a serious car crash spun her life in a different direction. Katie lost her singing voice – but discovered the immense self-healing power of Chinese medicine.

Now with over 20 years working in Chinese medicine, Katie has seen first-hand how this ancient wisdom can help many of our most pervasive modern ailments – from poor skin and bad digestion, to adrenal fatigue, depression and anxiety. Her aim is to show you that we all hold within us the power to treat ourselves better.

The Hayo’u Method combines the wisdom of Chinese medicine, products and techniques into simple one-minute rituals. The 3 easy steps – Restore, Reset and Rescue, deliver instant results and long-term benefits for both health and beauty.

I decided to treat myself to some products…

After cleansing my skin I warm up 2 drops of the face oil in my palms and inhale the gorgeous aromatic scent. I then apply the oil to my face and neck. The consistency is light and it absorbs well into the skin.

Next I follow the ritual using the Beauty Restorer Lite™

Press & Stroke

Press and stroke the Beauty Restorer Lite™ along your facial contours, as shown. Make eight small, quick sweeps in each direction, encouraging nutrients and oxygen to the skin’s surface.

Press & Turn

Use the curved tips of the tool to press and rotate slowly on the acupressure points shown, used in Chinese medicine to enhance your skin and nourish your complex

Soothe

Gently glide the flat edge of the tool across your face, to even out your skin tone.

I follow the ritual every night, it feels so good and is the perfect way to de-stress after a long day. Honestly the results have been amazing! It’s like treating myself to a daily mini facial.
