LoveLula Beauty Box June 2021

Ad: Gifted box received as part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Program. As always I give honest and unbiased reviews of products I receive.

The monthly LoveLula Beauty Box is a great way to discover green beauty products. Over the years I have discovered many new brands and products, some of which have become staples.

This month’s box contains full-sized products from Ayumi Naturals, Lamazuna, Balm Balm, The Castilian Soap Company and a sample from Dr Hauschka.

The total value of this month’s box is £37. There’s also an exclusive beauty box offer of 20% off the brands featured in the box.

What’s in the box?

Ayumi Fairness Daily Day Cream 100ml

With an infusion of hydration, Fairness Daily Facial Day Cream has been created to add radiance to lack-lustre complexions – our Ayurvedic blend of nourishing botanicals and peptides imparts glow and luminosity to skin. Turmeric, liquorice, papaya and goji berry seed extract help to brighten, balance and even skin tone. Our anti-inflammatory peptide sequence has been shown to tackle signs of hyperpigmentation and reduce the appearance of dark spots. Collagen-boosting arjuna extract keeps skin soft, supple and hydrated.

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Isopropyl Myristate, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-100 Stearate, Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Disodium EDTA, Xanthan Gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tetrapeptide-30, 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis, (Orange) Peel Oil, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Terminalia Arjuna Bark Extract, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Coriandrum Sativum (Coriander) Leaf Oil, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil, Tagetes Minuta Flower Oil, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Fruit Extract, Lycium Chinense Fruit Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl methylpropional, Limonene, Linalool, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, Alpha-isomethyl ionone.

This face cream has a light and creamy consistency but I’m not keen on the ingredients. It has a strong artificial perfume scent that I’m not keen on.

Sadly I won’t be using it.

The Castilian Soap Company – Limited Edition Peppermint Castile Soap 250ml

This natural castile soap with Peppermint Essential oil is a true liquid soap made from an organic castile soap base with natural vegetable oils of the finest quality. The Peppermint oil is refreshing, invigorating and uplifting. Ideal for a wake-up wash in the morning.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Potassium Oleate, Potassium Cocoate, Glycerin, Mentha Piperita Oil, Citric Acid, d-Limonene*, Citronellol*, Linalol*, Eugenol* *Naturally occurring in essential oils.

Another lovely addition from The Castilian Soap Company. If you regularly use castile soap then you’ll enjoy this Peppermint version. If you’re not familiar with castile soap, it is a great multi-purpose product. It acts as a surfactant, helps to lift away dirt and cut through grease.

It works well as a hand and body wash, shampoo, household cleaner (washing up, cleaning floors, laundry), makeup brush cleaner, shaving gel and the list goes on…

I enjoy using it as a body wash to awaken and invigorate my mind and body. A little goes a long way to create a lather, it feels cool and tingly on the skin. I’ve been suffering from hayfever and love how it clears my sinuses and leaves my skin clean, soft and refreshed.

Balm Balm Fragrance Free Face Balm 30ml

Made from shea butter, sunflower, beeswax, jojoba & calendula, gently melted together to create a medium soft balm formulation to soothe, moisturise and nourish.

This product is fragrance free and is ideal for extremely sensitive skins. So gentle that it can even be used on new born babies as a multi purpose moisturiser that takes up next to no space in your bag – it’s the perfect answer to all yours and your babies moisturising needs.

Ingredients:

Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), helianthus annuus (sunflower oil), cera alba (beeswax), calendula officinalis (calendula oil), simmondsia chinensis (jojoba oil)

I’m a huge fan of Balm Balm and this is a lovely multi-purpose product the whole family can use. The texture is lovely and it melts on the skin as you gently massage it in.

A little goes a long way and it absorbs well leaving my skin silky soft, smooth and moisturised.

How I use it:

Face – warm a small amount between my fingertips and smooth over my face.  It doesn’t make my skin greasy so it’s great to use before applying foundation.

Cuticles –  I apply a small amount into cuticles to soften and condition my nails.

Hair – I use a small amount on my hair to tame frizz.

Feet – I tend to have cracked heels and this helps a great deal.

Lips – It helps keep my lips moisturised.

Hayfever has been bad this year so I have also been using it around my nose to trap pollen.

Lamazuna Solid Shampoo – Oily Hair (Wild Grass) 55ml

This essential oil-free shampoo bar for oily hair has a subtle, earthy scent and enhanced with green clay for oil control so it always leaves your hair feeling fresh, clean, and moisturised. The Lamazuna solid shampoo lasts as long as 2 bottles of regular shampoo and the boxes are printed on recycled cardboard with vegetable inks, so they are safe to compost. Natural, cruelty-free and zero waste!

Ingredients:

Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Cocos Nucifera Oil*, Decyl Glucoside**, Aqua, Stearic Acid**, Palmitic Acid**, Montmorillonite**, Illite**, Spirulina Platensis Powder**, Parfum*, Tocopherol**, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil**. * ingredient from organic farming ** naturally derived

It was great to see a shampoo bar in this month’s box. I was a bit disappointed I got the oily hair version as I have dry hair. However I still tried it out. To use you rub your solid shampoo on wet hair to work it into a creamy lather. Then massage through your hair and rinse out – just as you would with a liquid shampoo.

It lathers well and has a nice fresh herbal scent, however it overly stripped my hair and left it very dry. I reckon I would get on better with the Solid shampoo – Dry hair (vanilla & coconut)
