Shea Moisture is one of my favourite natural hair brands. I’m #TeamSheaMoisture and the product junkie in me is always excited to try out their new lines.
The Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration line is part of Shea Moisture’s Community Commerce campaign.
Give Back and Fight Poverty!
10% of SheaMoisture Community Commerce sales go to women-led businesses, to support communities that supply ingredients for our products, or to support The Sofi Tucker Foundation. We founded Community Commerce to support these communities, especially those that source and make some of the key ingredients in SheaMoisture products. We help fund training and infrastructure to help them manufacture their own high quality goods in their countries, and get fair prices for their goods and labor. This helps them to earn a better living and support their families, making a better life possible within their communities. It’s not a donation. It’s an investment in a fairer world.
So while I was shopping on Amazon I came across the Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration conditioner and masque on Same-day delivery (Prime members) and I was ecstatic.
I decided not to get the shampoo as I’ve got tons of shampoo to finish off.

- Manuka Honey – Anti-inflammatory properties smooth hair. Helps create a moisturizing barrier to re-hydrate hair.
- Mafura Oil – High level of beneficial oleic acid help replenish oils stripped from hair.
- African Rock Fig – Contains antioxidant Vitamin C, which helps keep hair looking vibrant.
Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque (12 oz / 340g – £13.99)
This intense conditioning deep treatment infuses hair with a powerful dose of moisture and nutrients. Certified organic Shea Butter, Honey, Mafura and Baobab Oils are blended with antioxidant-rich African Rock Fig to restore and lock in moisture. Smoothes and fortifies follicles for stronger, healthier frizz-free hair.
When I opened this hair masque it was love at first sniff for me. The scent is soooooo amazing. My hair gets extremely parched in the winter so I like to use a deep conditoner weekly.
The first time I used this masque I covered my hair with a shower cap and left it in for 30 minutes. When I want a more intensive treatment I sit under my hair steamer for 15 minutes.
When I rinsed it out, this masque had worked wonders on my hair. My hair was unbelievably soft, shiny and felt like butter. Now that’s what I’d expect from a hydrating masque.
This product right here just tops it for me!
Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner (13 oz / 384ml – £12)
This rinse-out conditioner instantly softens and detangles while infusing hair with intense moisture and shine-enhancing nutrients.
Certified organic Shea Butter, Honey, Mafura and Baobab are blended into a rich formulation of restorative oils to nourish and condition dry, brittle hair. Helps restore manageability. Antioxidant-rich African Rock Fig helps boost hydration while protecting hair from environmental influences. Leaves hair soft, shiny and easy to style.
This conditioner has a good amount of slip and makes detangling a breeze. It has the same incredible scent as the deep conditioner.
The directions say leave on for 3 minutes but I like to leave it on longer (usually 15 minutes).
After rinsing my hair feels soft, hydrated and less frizzy.
I’m so glad I’ve found this new line. These 2 products are now in my top staples collection.

I’m actually using the intensive hydration complex oil from the line and I love it! I use it as a pre wash & I also use it to oil my hair/scalp.
Ooh I’d love to try that one next. Thanks for sharing 😀
Think it would be any good for washing out my hair while its in s sew-in? I was so engrossed in the Raw range I didn’t notice this range but I want to give it a try
Hi Fola, if you’ve got your hair in sew-in I would probably use the JBCO shampoo to help clarify your scalp. This range isn’t that widely available. They’ve only launched the Raw Shea butter, coconut Hibiscus, JBCO and Superfruit complex in Boots. There are a few places online like Amazon, Beautybyzara, British Curls that have newer lines. Shea Moisture have so….many other lines we are missing out on here in the UK.
I hope that helps 😀
Thank you for such a wonderful article dear and from my side I want to say that i am using manuka honey intensive hydration complex from long for my hairs and its really effective. This potent treatment absorbs quickly to encourage a healthy scalp and lustrous, beautiful hair. Leaves hair soft, manageable and resilient. Improves hair’s elasticity and promotes healthy growth.
Thank you Aaliyah. I’m glad you love using the manuka honey treatment.
Can this product stay in the hair and not rinse out?
Hi Raenelle, this product is meant to be rinsed out so I wouldn’t recommend leaving it in.
