It’s hard to believe it’s almost the end of the year. It’s time to share the lovely goodies from this month’s LoveLula Beauty Box.
I had been a regular subscriber to the LoveLula beauty box for over 2 years prior to joining the LoveLula accredited blogger program. The LoveLula beauty box has been invaluable to me over the years… they are excellent value for money and has given me the chance to discover numerous natural beauty brands, some of which have become my staples.
So here’s what I received this month..
There’s a nice selection of products which is always great and the total value is £44.
Greenfrog Botanic Body wash Geranium & Peppermint (100ml, £3.90)
Designed for those on the move these mini 100ml bottles can be carried on board easy jet flights, are great to take to the gym, for weekends away or simply as a gift to those who matter.
Made from organic soapberries, grown sustainably in the mighty Himalayan Mountains of the East, where for centuries they have been used for washing the whole body. These magical berries, used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat soft, sensitive and dry skin, leave your body superbly clean and really respect the PH of your skin. Infused with high quality, antioxidant and moisturising organic aloe vera and combined with calming geranium oil and cooling peppermint oil, this body wash acts a deep conditioner for your skin.
Ingredients:
Aqua (water), Potassium Cocoate, Lauryl Betaine, Coco-Glucoside, Sapindus Mukorossi Fruit Extract*, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Powder*, Parfum (Fragrance) : Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Mentha Arvensis (Peppermint) oil, Levulinic Acid, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid. Citronellol**, Geraniol**, Hexyl Cinnamal**, Linalool**.
*Certified Organic Ingredient **Naturally occurring within essential oils. 0% Paraben 0% SLS, ALS 0% Phenoxyethanol
We all love Greenfrog botanic bodywashes in my home, especially my hubby and kids with eczema. It helps soothe their skin and any flare ups.
The consistency is nice and silky with a very gentle lather. This is not like your regular body wash, so don’t expect lots of lather or think you have to be heavy-handed. It does the job well and leaves my skin soft and nourished.
The refreshing scent of peppermint and floral geranium helps lift my mood and is a great pick-me-up in the morning.
Glossworks Nail & Cuticle Oil (9ml, £12)
Softens and moisturises nails and cuticles.
Ingredients:
I definitely need this cuticle oil as my nails are dry and brittle. It penetrates well and doesn’t feel greasy. It helps soften my cuticles and nourish my nails so I will continue to use it to see long term benefits.
Ooh! – Oils of Heaven Natural Tamanu Rejuvenating Face Oil Travel Size (15ml, £9.50)
Tamanu oil is rich in Omega 6 and Omega 9, making it ideal for enhancing healthy skin. It is an outstanding moisturiser.
Tamanu (pronounced TAW-man-oo) is an incredible oil also known as the “oil of the gods”. It has been highly praised as a ‘healing oil’ and used in South East Asia and the Pacific Islands for centuries as a cure-all for many skin problems.
Tamanu oil has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and analgesic properties and has been effective on acne, rashes, insect bites, ringworm, nappy rash, stretch marks, sunburn and much more…
I’m familiar with Tamanu oil (used in skin & hair products) but this is my first time using the pure oil. It has a rich, dark green colour and a distinctive nutty and earthy aroma. I’ve heard many people say it smells like curry, I personally don’t think so and the scent has grown on me. If the scent bothers you, then add a few drops of your favourite essential oil.
The texture is rich and thick, however it absorbs easily and doesn’t feel greasy at all. It feels amazing on my skin and I like to use it as a nourishing night treatment. It also works well as a spot treatment, I used it on an inflammed spot on my cheek and the next morning it had visibly reduced.
I hope to see some long-term effects on my acne scars and hyperpigmentation. It also has incredible benefits for the hair. I’ve added a few drops to my conditioner as a moisture boost.
PHB Ethical Beauty Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow – Almond (3g, £9.95)
PHB Pressed Mineral Eye Shadow provides long lasting colour that is gentle to skin. Highly pigmented for rich, true colour that will enhance and illuminate your eyes. Great for sensitive skin.
The rich pigments ensure long lasting colour that stays all day without creasing. Create sheer or intense washes of colour with our versatile shades that suit all skin tones. Apply wet or dry.
A satin cream with golden tones. Great neutral tone for day and night.
Use to define and illuminate your eyes.
Ingredients:
So straightaway I knew this eyeshadow wouldn’t suit my skin tone. On my skin it looks rather ashy. I had planned to give it away, however one of my fellow bloggers Buftea Andreea suggested I use it on top of a dark matt eyeshadow to give it a bit of vibrancy. I have tried that and it worked so it’s a keeper then!
PHB Ethical Beauty Eye Shadow Brush £7.95
Our Vegan Eye Shadow Brush is the perfect size and shape for applying and blending colour to the lids and to highlight under the brow area. Multi-function brush for blending shadow to eliminate harsh lines and create soft definition along the lash line.
How To Use:
Lightly dab brush into the minerals ensuring the brush head is evenly covered. Apply in soft sweeping motions. Tips: You can slightly wet the brush first to make the colours more intense.
I really like this brush, the bristles are nice and soft and the shape works well for applying and blending eyeshadow on my eyelids and under my brow.
What do you think of this month’s box? Have you got any favourites?
