Review – Aviela Healthy Hair Shea Hair Butter

I love Shea butter and always incorporate it in my DIY recipes.  I’ve had my eye on Aviela for a while…

avielais a natural skin and Hair care brand created for people with dry sensitive skin and hair.  Aviela, is a dagaara word from Northern Ghana which means “It’s beautiful”.

Aviela’s collection harnesses the nourishing and protecting properties of Unrefined Shea butter, which is widely renowned for its softening, anti-drying, anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant, anti-aging properties and is extremely rich in natural tocopherols (vitamin E) for antioxidant benefits.

Aviela believe that beauty is found in the most simple and natural things and bring this idea to life by using natural ingredients and simple formulas.  They create products that celebrate and preserve the traditions of ethnic people.

Aviela products are:

  • Gentle to the skin & hair, moisturising and nourishing
  • SLS and Paraben free
  • Lanolin and Mineral oil free
  • Hand made with care
  • Natural and free from artificial colouring
  • Cruelty-free and suitable for Vegans

Today I’ll be sharing my thoughts on their hair butter.

The cold winter really takes a toll on my hair so I like to use more deeply nourishing products.  The consistency is just right and easy to work with, it gently melts on contact.  The scent is lovely, lemongrass really comes through with undertones of lavender.

I like to use it as a pre-poo, I apply a little amount on damp hair working it through my entire hair, concentrating on my ends which are dry.  I leave it in for 30 minutes and then shampoo.

I also apply a small amount to style my hair, a little goes a long way and it doesn’t leave my hair greasy or weighed down.  It helps protect my hair from the cold and my hair stays moisturised and hydrated for days!

Have you tried any products from Aviela?  Please feel free to share your thoughts.
