Wake Up Your Skin With Jalue Ice Therapy

The word on the street is Cryotherapy.  Everyone is raving about it!

Cryotherapy is the use of extreme cold temperatures to naturally stimulate the body.

It has become one of the latest trends that celebrities and athletes swear by.  From Cryofacials (applying pressurised liquid nitrogen vapours to the face and neck) to whole-body Cryotherapy (involves being in a chamber of around -140°C for up to 3 minutes). Now I don’t think I’m brave enough to consider doing the whole-body Cryotherapy .

So I came across Jalue on LoveLula and decided to try out their at home Ice therapy.

Jalue is the brainchild of Azerbaijani Jale Demirchi, who was immersed in Russian skincare heritage and the natural skincare traditions of herbalism from a child. This family tradition for herbal skincare started with the women in the family. For many years, to cure allergies and skincare ailments, Jale’s grandmother and mother visited a herbalist who on her deathbed shared her secret recipes with the family. It is these recipes that inspire and form the basis for the Jalue range of natural skincare.

Jalue Ice Therapy | £39

Cooling, radiance-boosting mini facials inspired by traditional herbalism and powered by modern cryotherapy.

Jalue Ice Therapy skincare harnesses the ancient knowledge of the healing power of herbs and combines it with the contemporary application of cryotherapy.

Jalue Ice Therapy is inspired by a Russian skincare tradition that dates back to Catherine II (1729-1796), otherwise known as Catherine the Great.

Russia’s most famous empress was said to have applied an ice cube to her face, neck and décolletage every morning to preserve her beauty and refresh her complexion.  Russians later improved upon this ritual by adding different skin beautifying herbs to the ice for the ultimate skincare treatment.

Jalue Ice Therapy

Use daily as a skin-reviving mini facial. Contains 4 herbal sachets and a reusable silicone ‘ice cone’ applicator. Each sachet is enough for a week of mini facials.

Ice Therapy herbal sachets contain chamomile, sage, nettle, rose and oak bark to:

  • Reduce puffiness
  • Calm and tighten skin
  • Lessen the size and appearance of pores
  • Fight the formation of wrinkles
  • Give skin a glowing appearance

All herbal sachets numbered 1,2,3 and 4 are identical.  Each sachet should be used for one week before being discarded and infusing a new herbal sachet.

How to use:

  1. Steep the herbal sachet in 100ml of boiling water.  Do not remove the herbs from the sachet.
  2. When cool, remove the herbal sachet and pour the infusion carefully into the water tight silicone cone.
  3. Place into the freezer until frozen; for best results place on its side.
  4. Apply the ice cone to cleansed face, neck and décolleté daily am/pm using gentle circular motions (if you have particularly sensitive skin place a muslin cloth between the ice and skin).  Pat dry once completed.
  5. Follow with your favourite serum and/or moisturiser for added skin benefits.

When my kids saw the ice cone they thought I was making them an ice lolly haha!  It reminds them of ‘Calippo’.  So I said it’s an ice lolly for mummy’s face and they laughed.

It is very easy to make and apply.  Once the herbs are brewed and the tea cooled, it was easy to fill the cone. I had some tea left over so I drank it…. waste not. It actually tasted really good, I love my herbal teas. To avoid any excess you can use 80-90ml water instead.

I have to say using it on my skin felt so so good especially in this hot weather.  It didn’t feel uncomfortable and I enjoyed giving myself a mini facial massage for about 2 minutes.  It is great in the morning as it helps perk me up.

Adding this ice therapy has taken my daily skincare routine to a whole new level.   Afterwards my skin has an instant glow, feels refreshed, firmer and smoother.

My moisturiser absorbs really well into my skin and my skin looks healthier.

It also helps reduce the inflammation from any pesky blemishes trying to pop up.

This is definitely going to be part of my daily regimen.

Have you tried Jalue Ice Therapy?
