The cold winter months can take a toll on our skin. Thanks to extreme temperatures, cold, dry air and central heating, we can experience dull winter skin. During this time I like to exfoliate at least twice a week to get rid of dry and dull skin.
I love to pamper myself, visiting spas and experiencing various rituals. Frankly it can be expensive so I like to re-create the spa experience at home, today I will be sharing my at home Hammam ritual.
Whenever I get the chance I like to pamper myself with a mini hammam ritual in the comfort in my home using products from Kaé Argatherapie.
Kaé Argatherapie Traditional Black Hammam Soap with Eucalyptus (200g | £18)
Like the soaps traditionally used in the oriental hammam (steam room), Black Soap is a 100% vegetable paste made of olive oil, eucalyptus essential oil and salt. It cleanses and removes dead skin cells while hydrating and firming the skin. It is rich in vitamin E and can be used for all types of skins.

INGREDIENTS:
Aqua, Olea europea, Potassium Hydroxide, Eucalyptus Globulus, Citrus Paradisii extract

Kaé Argatherapie Traditional Hammam Glove (Kessa Glove) £9.99
We’ve developed a very high quality kessa glove, just like those used to cleanse and massage bodies every day in real Moroccan baths. This scouring glove is ideal for oriental beauty rituals, sloughing off dead cells from the surface of the skin, eliminating acne, ingrown hairs and dry, flaky patches.

I usually perform this ritual at the weekend when I have extra time to pamper myself.
To recreate the Hammam experience, I start by running the shower for a few minutes to make the bathroom hot and steamy. Then I stand under the shower for 5-10 minutes so my skin is warm and softened. The heat allows my pores to open, ready for a deep cleanse.
I love the rich wonderfully gooey like consistency of this soap. It is infused with invigorating eucalyptus which has antibacterial and antiseptic properties, ensuring deep pore cleansing.
I massage the black soap all over my skin and leave it on for 10 minutes, then I rinse thoroughly. I wet the kessa glove slightly, applying firm pressure I start scrubbing my skin using circular motions.
It is amazing to see dry dead skin coming off my body. After rinsing thoroughly I pat my skin dry.
I love this ritual as it makes a huge difference to my skin even after the first use. It deep cleanses my pores of impurities and sloughs off dead skin cells, dry and flaky skin, revealing healthy and radiant skin. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated and my skin feels smooth and silky soft. Afterwards I give myself a massage with some body oil to moisturise.
I also love to use it on my face. I massage a small amount on my face, wait 5 minutes and then use gently massage with my hands. After rinsing my skin is deeply cleansed, feels soft and smooth.
Have you tried a Hammam ritual?
