Review – MoMineral Makeup Loose Mineral Foundation

Advert: This post contains PR gifted products. As always I give honest and unbiased reviews of products I receive.

Finding the right foundation for me takes a bit of work especially with having hyperpigmentation. I tend to have a hard time finding the right shade and would often mix two shades together to create one that works.

Plus when I made the switch to a cleaner lifestyle I found many natural and organic brands offered no options or limited shades for dark skin. That’s a problem that needs to be addressed!

I was recently contacted by MoMineral® Makeup UK to review their Loose Mineral Foundation.

MoMineral® UK Limited was established based on the principle that makeup should even out the skin tone, provide nourishment and protection while enhancing natural beauty! In addition, we are based in the UK, and all of our cosmetics products are designed, formulated and manufactured in England. They are also completely vegan and cruelty-free and are created with 100% natural ingredients.

We also believe every skin colour is valuable, and that no individual should have to struggle to find high-quality makeup to match and cater to their skin tone.

Their loose mineral foundation is available in 24 shades and each name means ‘Beauty’ in different languages.

Light Neutral: Sundarata, Omorfiá, Kauneus, Ilu, Piekno
Light Warm: Meinu, Belleza, Krasa, Beauty
Light Cool: Feguro, Beaute, Krasota
Tan: Skoonheid, Umuhle, Kyaungani Kukungola
Dark: Runako, Uzuri, Mhle, Ahofe
Deep: Ewa, Immama, Uyia, Towela

Before they sent me a full size Loose Mineral foundation, I was given the option to try one of their sample sets so I could find my perfect match.

At MoMineral® Makeup, we are highly aware of the complex diversity of overtones and undertones caused by the rich melanin pigment in dark skins resulting in many shade variations. We are also working hard to expand and include product shades that provide for all skin tones.

We are proud to provide 12 shades of Mineral Foundation for Dark Skin to provide a smooth and total coverage without making your face colour different from another part of your body.

I chose my samples from the ‘Dark’ category.

Dark: Runako, Uzuri, Mhle, Ahofe

After trying each one, the foundation that closely matched my skin tone was ‘Ahofe’ which means ‘beauty’ in twi, a dialect of the Akan language spoken in southern and central Ghana.

I was later sent a full size Loose mineral foundation in Ahofe (8g | £20)

Our new mineral foundation is formulated with carefully selected natural ingredients that calm, heal and cover imperfections and blemishes. This weightless, ultra-fine luxurious loose powder foundation glides on the skin smoothly to create a flawless look with a soft matte finish that will last all day without drying out the skin.

This formula provides sunscreen protection and a buildable medium to full coverage without blocking pores. This new loose powder foundation is glitter or shimmers free and great for sensitive and acne prone skin.

  • Won’t block pores or stimulate breakouts
  • Absorbs excess oil without drying out the skin
  • Free of bismuth, sulphates, parabens, talc, fragrances and glutens
  • Contains natural sunscreen zinc oxide which protects and heals the skin.
  • Contains kaolin which cleanses and detoxify the skin without causing redness
  • Contains rice starch power which soothes and heals the effect of acne and eczema on skin

It comes packaged in a ‘twist + lock sifter jar’ which is handy for dispensing the amount you need. And the lock sifter prevents any spills when transporting. I use a Kabuki brush to swirl around the lid and fully coat the brush and shake off excess. Then I gently buff into my skin using light, circular motions.

I like medium coverage as I don’t like to pile tons of foundation on my face so I only build coverage in areas that need it.

I love how easy it is to blend this formula, it doesn’t feel powdery or cakey. The finished look is fresh and natural.

I really like the coverage it gives and my skin has a natural glow. It has SPF20 sunscreen protection and doesn’t clog my pores or cause breakouts which is great.

Thank you MoMineral® for collaborating with me.
