What a week it’s been! Started off with my little mama having an allergic reaction playing in a friend’s garden, then my little man came down with tonsillitis, me having an eye infection and now my hubby has come down with a virus.

It’s been a stressful and tiring week and such a drag when I’m not feeling my best and still have to look after others.

Today I’m focusing on some much needed self-care. Time to detox, unwind and relax so I can feel refreshed and revitalised for the week ahead.

Detox salt bath + pampering skincare + Netflix & chill

Face masks are an essential part of my self-care routine and powder face masks are my absolute favourites.

Today’s self-care Sunday routine features a face mask I’ve been loving from Mono Naturoils.

Premium Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder*, Superfine French Green Clay, Camu Camu Powder*, Superfine Australian Washed Blue Clay, White Willow Bark Extract, Turmeric Powder*, Pumpkin Powder, Spirulina Powder*, Chlorella Powder*, Ashwagandha Powder*, Essential Oils of Lavender *, Bergamot* and Clary Sage*, Good Energy and Love.

Naturally occurring in essential oils – Citral, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool

*Certified Organic

Contains no palm oil, synthetic colours or fragrances, preservatives, parabens, emulsifiers, GMOs, mineral oils, pre-mix bases, fillers, toxic chemicals, sulphates, silicones or additives.

How to use:
  • To activate all these gorgeous ingredients, measure ½ to 1 teaspoon of the powder into a bowl and mix with a small amount of warm water, drop by drop, to make a creamy mousse-like paste.
  • If you tend to find clay masks a little drying, add a few drops of your favourite oil to the mixture.
  • Apply the paste onto freshly cleansed skin and leave on for 10-20 minutes (do not allow to dry completely).
  • To remove, take a warm, damp soft face cloth and hold it over the face for a few seconds to loosen the mask, then gently wipe off.  Repeat as necessary.
  • Follow immediately with one of our facial oils while skin is still moist.  For best results, use 1-2 times per week.  We recommend using a facial brush to mix and apply this product.

Important: Avoid getting water in the jar to preserve freshnessAlways use a wooden or ceramic bowl and spoon – metal may react with the minerals in the clay, so always avoid when preparing your mask.  Use immediately and do not keep any unused mixture.

I love the versatility of powder face masks. You can customise it by mixing with your preferred liquid. Love the vibrant green colour and it smells so good…refreshing and uplifting.

It is easy to mix to get a smooth consistency. I apply to cleansed skin and leave on for 20 minutes while I chill out. Tip: Mist face regularly during application to keep mask moist.  Instead of using water to activate the mask, you can use your favourite floral hydrosol, cooled chamomile tea or aloe vera juice.

Here’s why I love this face mask…

It is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, Chlorella and Spirulina nourish the skin, and along with detoxifying Matcha with its anti-inflammatory benefits, deliver antioxidants to protect the skin from damaging free radicals.

Mineral rich, detoxifying green and blue clays draw out impurities and toxins, tighten pores and effectively removes excess oil.  Exfoliating and anti-inflammatory White Willow Bark, which contains natural salicylic acid, unclogs pores, controls sebum production and removes dead skin cells, while Pumpkin, a rich source of gently exfoliating enzymes, antioxidants, beta carotene, and many other vitamins and minerals beneficial to the skin, also gently removes dead skin cells and leaves skin smooth and glowing.

Camu Camu has the highest vitamin C content of any plant in the world – a potent antioxidant which helps protect our skin from damaging free radicals as well as premature aging, and is required for cellular growth and repair and collagen formation.  It also helps fight pigmentation and even skin tone.  And last, but by no means least, Turmeric has fantastic antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as helping to reduce oiliness.

It is also Crystal Infused and amplified with the high vibrational energy of Amethyst – a powerful and protective stone with strong cleansing and healing powers. Helps to relieve stress, tension, fear and anxiety, and soothes irritability. Calms, soothes and stills the mind. Protects against negative energies.

The result: deeply clean and clearer skin with a fresh, healthy and radiant complexion

This is the perfect self-care mask that helps address my skin concerns while calming and soothing my mind. It helps brighten my skin and restore my skin back to its natural glow.
