Why you should be wearing Organic Lipstick

Lipstick is a staple in most women’s make-up bags and can be full of many potentially dangerous chemicals. Many wear lipstick daily as part of their beauty regime and reapply it several times a day.

Did you know that the average woman will ingest 4-8lbs of lipstick over her lifetime? Many lipsticks contain parabens, lead, silicones, artificial colours, fragrance and other harsh chemicals which are toxic to us and to the environment.

Another ingredient to look out for is Carmine, or CI 75470 – this bright red pigment is obtained from the Cochineal beetle. It takes around 70,000 beetles to produce one pound of Carmine pigment.

I love lip serums. This one is such a delight to use with a beautiful orange scent. It has a glossy texture and is easy to apply. It nourishes the lips and provides shine without feeling sticky.

You can use as a remedy for sore, chapped lips, morning and night. It looks great on its own or you can apply over lip pencil or pencil to create a gloss effect.

I don’t usually wear lipstick as I’m more of a lip gloss fan but I do love the formula of this lipsticks. It has a creamy texture and glides easily on the lips. The colours are nice and vibrant thanks to pure mineral pigments and it lasts for hours.
