I recently tried out a deluxe sample of Rahua’s Hydration Shampoo and conditioner and got hooked. I saw amazing results so I decided to get the full sizes.

Founded by Ecuadorian hair stylist and humanitarian Fabian Lliguin after visiting the Amazon, Rahua derives its name from a tree nut grown in the heart of the rainforest, used by local tribes to produce extraordinary oil that revitalises hair and skin. After the local women disclosed their secret to lustrous, healthy hair, Lliguin founded Rahua to bring organic, plant-derived beauty to the rest of the world, working with over 500 families from the Quechua-Shuar people and other neighbouring communities to cultivate the nourishing elixir. The all-natural, vegan products work to correct and repair with deeply penetrating ingredients and long-lasting effects, fortifying hair follicles and nurturing skin while leaving behind the soothing scent of Palo Santo oil.

Rahua® Hydration Shampoo is created to replenish the driest, thirstiest hair, this rich and creamy formula is infused with our plant-powered complex crafted with rare Amazonian oils and natural protein-bonding sugars that drive hydration deep into each strand of hair. Scented with the tropical aromas of passion fruit and mango, this innovative formula leaves scalp hydrated and balanced and hair stronger, healthier, smoother and shinier.

Best for all hair types that experience any level of dryness.

Ingredients:

MORETE OIL: Rich in vitamins A, C, and E, essential fatty acids, tocopherols, and carotenoids—especially beta-carotene—oil from this Amazonian fruit’s flesh protects hair from damaging UVA rays. We use Symbiotic®* morete.

RAHUA (UNGURAHUA): Amazonian women have for eons depended on the oil from this tree nut to nurture and strengthen their hair. It fortifies weak, damaged strands, nourishes and maintains hair follicle and scalp health, and its super-fine molecules push color pigmentation deep into the hair shaft, greatly extending color endurance. We use Symbiotic®* Rahua.

SACHA INCHI: A longtime food source in the Amazon, these seeds are exceptionally rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants including vitamins A and E. Sacha Inchi oil works to lock in hair’s moisture and condition and soothe the scalp. We use Symbiotic®* sacha inchi.

ORGANIC MANGO SUGARS: This juicy tropical fruit offers a subtle, irresistibly exotic scent and contains sugars which bond oil proteins to hair, maximizing hydration.

*Symbiotic® is Rahua®’s signature standard. In order for an ingredient to be classified as Symbiotic®, it must be rainforest grown (wild) in undisturbed virgin forest, harvested and prepared using indigenous knowledge by people indigenous to the virgin forest environment, and it must be purchased at a price that helps to grow and sustain these traditions, build economies, and empower the indigenous people.

This shampoo has a luxurious creamy and silky consistency and the scent is amazing. The tropical aromas of passion fruit and mango is so enticing and addictive.

It creates a good amount of lather, a little goes a long way and it definitely lives up to its claims. My hair is naturally dry and thirsty and this is one of the most hydrating shampoos I’ve used so far.

It cleanses while nourishing and moisturising my hair strands. I can feel it smoothing my hair and I can literally glide my fingers through my hair which is rare.

After rinsing my hair was so soft and silky. I’m now completely hooked and this will be a staple for me.

I love the creamy consistency of this conditioner and of course the sweet and juicy fruity scent. A little goes a long way and it is ultra-moisturising. It literally melts into my hair and delivers a much needed boost of hydration.

As my hair absorbs the moisture, it shrinks to its natural curl pattern which is a good indication for me. My strands are super soft, smooth and tangle free without feeling weighed down. I can easily finger detangle which is great.

I absolutely love this conditioner as it has a good amount of slip without the need of silicones. My hair is left so soft, shiny, frizz-free and moisturised.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, this duo have delivered amazing results and lived up to its claims. Now I would normally never consider spending this much on a shampoo and conditioner but for it’s well worth it.

I wash my hair once a week and a little goes a long way so it will last me a long time. If your hair needs an extra boost of moisture and the price fits within your budget then I would highly recommend this duo.

Until next time,
