Turmerlicious – Instant Turmeric Latte

For a number of years now I’ve been incorporating turmeric into my daily diet.  You probably know turmeric is known for its many health benefits including:

  • Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties
  • Relieves cold and cough symptoms
  • Improves cardiovascular health
  • Improves digestive health
  • Boosts immune system
  • Anti-cancer properties
  • Improves the nervous system
  • Anti-ageing properties

Over the years I’ve taken turmeric capsules but one of my favourite ways is Turmeric tea aka ‘golden milk’ or now popularly known as ‘turmeric latte’.

Normally to make my golden milk, I would have to line up a host of ingredients including turmeric powder, coconut milk, coconut oil, vanilla, cinnamon and black pepper.  I enjoyed making it, however it can be time consuming.

Over the weekend I attended Love Natural, Love You show in London and came across the brand Turmerlicious.

Mum of 5 Maggie Howell created Turmerlicious as a really convenient and delicious way to take a regular daily dose of whole food turmeric.

Based on the age old Indian “Golden Milk” or “haldi milk” this modern take on the turmeric latte is so simple and easy to make – Just add hot water to make a delicious, soothing and “oh so good” caffeine free hot drink.

Turmerlicious is made from a blend of coconut milk, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, a hint of black pepper to aid with the absorption of turmeric and coconut blossom nectar for a touch of sweetness.

Maggie has created four delicious natural flavours to accommodate the varying taste buds of her family – VanillaGingerChoco, and for the not so faint hearted, chilli choc.

Unlike many other turmeric based products, Turmerlicious is made from the whole turmeric root, contains black pepper and coconut milk (65% fat). As soon as you add the hot water you have the optimum combination to maximise absorption into the body.

What makes Turmerlicious so special?

One of the challenges with turmeric is that as a standalone spice (or supplement), it is not absorbed well into the body as it is fat soluble.

Turmerlicious has been specially formulated to help you body absorb the turmeric as:-

  • Turmeric is fat soluble – so Turmerlicious is blended with luscious coconut milk to wrap the curcumin in the essential fat it needs
  • Each serving contains approx. 1.5 g of whole turmeric root (which includes curcumin as well as over 200 active constituents)
  • It has added piperine (black pepper) which increases the absorption by 2000%
  • Turmeric loves heat (making it more soluble) so when you add boiling water you are completing the prefect formula to maximise the absorption of Turmeric
Turmerlicious is also free from
– Dairy
– Gluten
– Preservatives
– Artificial flavours
– Refined sugar
– GMO products
– Nuts
– Eggs
While I was at the show I got to try the different flavours and my favourite was Vanilla so I bought a pack  to try at home.

Turmerlicious Vanilla 200g Packet £6.95

Turmerlicious vanilla is an instant, soothing turmeric latte made from a delicate blend of coconut, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, a hint of black pepper and vanilla.

Turmerlicious

Based on the ancient Indian “Golden Milk” this modern take on the turmeric latte is so simple and easy to make – Just add hot water to make a delicious, soothing and “oh so good” caffeine and dairy free hot drink.

You can enjoy Turmerlicious any time of night or day. Vanilla Turmerlicious is our mildest turmeric latte with the added touch of naturally sweet vanilla for a golden, smooth and dreamy drink.

Now this is so easy to make.  You simply add 3 heaped teaspoons to a mug.  Add a small amount of water or milk to make a smooth paste.  Pour in boiling water, stir well and it’s ready to drink.

It makes a delicious hot beverage you can enjoy any time of the day.  I really love having one in the evening as it helps me wind down for bed.

Another favourite way which I discovered at the show is to have it as a smoothie.  Add 3 heaped teaspoons of turmerlicious, a banana, some ice and water/milk to a blender and whiz till incorporated.  Enjoy a nice chilled turmeric smoothie!

If you’re looking for a way to incorporate turmeric into your diet, I would highly recommend you try Turmerlicious.

Check out the website for more details, they are also available in convenient single serving 20g sachets for when you’re on the go and is a great way to sample the products.
